Mold in the Walls
Here is an example of a commercial building with mold in the walls that developed after water damage. Notice the dark spotting which are telltale signs of mold growth and after testing, we found that the insulation was wet as well. Once insulation becomes wet it loses its R-value which is its ability to resist the transfer of heat from one side to the other. Because of this it must be removed as you can see in the AFTER photo. The wall was ‘gutted’ by removal of the unsalvageable drywall and the affected insulation and afterwards was sprayed with an anti-microbial spray to prevent mold growth.
