Yes, Even Hardwood Floors are Removed in a Flood
SERVPRO of Greater Waco recently traveled down near Marble Falls to help those affected by the Llano River flooding. This particular home suffered almost a foot of water on the second floor! When we travel to an area affected by storm that has suffered catastrophic flooding, we have to remove all affected materials that are porous. This includes but is not limited to carpet, carpet padding, any wood flooring, any laminate flooring, affected drywall and wet insulation. SERVPRO of Greater Waco had no choice but to remove the beautiful, an exotic, hardwoods in this home. Our primary goal in a storm situation is to get the home back to a safe environment for the homeowners to return to.
