Silt in a Home From a Recent Flood
SERVPRO of Greater Waco traveled down near Marble Falls to help those affected by the Llano River flooding. This particular home received relatively minor flooding with only about 6 inches of water coming into the home, some of their neighbors got over 2 feet in their homes. When river water rises and floods a structure it brings with it silt and contaminates. This greatly complicates the dry down process of a home. SERVPRO of Greater Waco first had to address the silt in the home, we re-wet to floor and wet vacuumed the floor to remove the loose surface contaminants. We then steam cleaned the tile to sanitize the floor. This is just a small step of the whole drying process, but it is clear in the photos how different the floor looks after.
