A Floating Floor Over Hardwoods in Waco

SERVPRO of Greater Waco was called out to this Waco area home to deal with a water loss and some mold growth resulting from the water loss. The home had original 1950s installed oak hardwoods that had been covered by a laminate flooring some years later. SERVPRO of Greater Waco had to remove both the laminate flooring and the original hardwoods to ensure the home was safe. This damage happened due to the vapor barrier, that was laid over the hardwoods to protect the laminate flooring in the home. When the water damage occurred, the vapor barrier kept the water bound in the hardwoods and did not allow it to attempt to evaporate to a state of equilibrium, unfortunately this led to the replacement of the hardwood floors. SERVPRO of Greater Waco dried the home out and ensured no further damage to the home occurred. SERVPRO of Greater Waco even covered the subfloor with an extra layer of plywood so the homeowners could safely walk on the floor until the repairs were made.
